Iraq assures Ukraine to support ending the war with Russia and resort to negotiations

    Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein assured on Saturday, his Ukrainian counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba, of Iraq's support for ending the war with Russia and resorting to negotiations.

    Deputy Prime Minister, FM Hussein met Kuleba, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    Hussein affirmed Iraq's keenness to cease fire, end the war, and resort to negotiations for resolving differences via peaceful means with Russia, noting that "Iraq is against the policy of wars permanently, because of what it suffered as a result of its repercussions."

    In turn, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister stressed that his country is keen to end this war, referring to the results of the recent meetings and the international efforts within this framework.

    The two sides reviewed the prospects for bilateral relations and enhancing joint cooperation in various fields.
