Al-Halbousi receives Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah and his accompanying delegation

Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi praised on Thursday, the procedures for opening the new port of Arar for Iraqi pilgrims and Umrah performers.

A statement issued by the Media Office of the Speaker of Parliament, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, "Al-Halbousi received the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the head of the Hajj and Umrah Authority, Sami Al-Masoudi."

According to the statement, the meeting discussed ways of cooperation between the two brotherly countries, facilitating the procedures of Iraqi pilgrims and Umrah performers, overcoming obstacles facing them to perform the rituals easily, and working to increase their numbers during this year.

Al-Halbousi praised the procedures for opening the new Arar border crossing for pilgrims and Umrah performers, and referred to the positive cooperation between the Iraqi Hajj and Umrah Authority and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. He also expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the distinguished services it provides to the guests of Rahman, according to the text of the statement."
