Minister of Electricity and WB discuss financing renewable energy projects

Minister of Electricity Ziyad Ali Fadhil discussed with the World Bank the possibility of financing renewable energy projects.

Fadhil chaired on Monday, “an important vital meeting with the World Bank team to discuss the possibility and mechanism of financing a number of important projects to establish stations and renewable energy projects. This comes in line with global trends to limit environmental pollution and global warming treatment, and in harmony with the Ministry's great efforts to keep pace with the growing demand for energy,” according to a statement by the Ministry of Electricity, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

He told the delegation that "beginnings are necessary with this type of project, especially with accredited and international teams and platforms such as the World Bank," pointing out that "as far as it is concerned, we commend your support in contributing to the financing of several projects that were represented in the reconstruction of the destroyed areas that have suffered from sabotage by subversive gangs.”

"Our procedures will meet the necessities that prepare for reliable participation with you, especially since the ministry is proceeding with major projects to diversify energy sources,” he added.

In turn, the guest delegation expressed its satisfaction with the transparent and professional presentation by the minister, and expressed its willingness to move forward with a ministry of electricity size for prospects and promising projects.
