General Secretariat of the Cabinet confirmed on Monday, that food, medical supplies and civil defense experts will be going from Iraq to support Syria over the devastating earthquake.
"Preparations are underway at the Martyr Muhammad Alaa Air Base, to transfer the first shipment of food, relief and medical supplies provided by the Government of Iraq to the Syrian people, under the direction of the Prime Minister, Muhammed S. Al-Sudani, due to what the Syrian cities were exposed to as a result of the earthquakes, said the spokesman for the Cabinet General Secretary, Haider Majeed in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He added, "The first shipment will be launched today, and other successive shipments will be launched during the next two days. About 40 civil defense experts also will be sent to assist the Syrian side, in addition to a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that will offer condolences to the Syrian people."
