Al-Halbousi: Parliament supports the bilateral cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia

    Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi affirmed today, Thursday, that Parliament supports the Iraqi government and the bilateral cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia.

    A statement issued by the Media Office of the Speaker of Parliament, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Al-Halbousi received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, and his accompanying delegation, and during the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and ways to strengthen Cooperation in the field of economy and investment, and joint coordination on regional and international issues.

    Al-Halbousi stressed "the importance of activating the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council and the joint committees between the two countries," and indicated that "the House of Representatives supports the Iraqi government and the bilateral cooperation agreement by overcoming all legislative obstacles that contribute to achieving tangible results for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples.".

    For his part, Prince Faisal stressed that "his country's leadership supports the strengthening of bilateral relations and cooperation in all fields, including the field of investment, in order to build a sustainable economy, and that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seeks to achieve cooperation and integration with Iraq, which is a source of stability in the region."
