The government is working to find consensus on Sinjar Agreement, says FM Hussein

    INA - BAGHDAD 

    Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein confirmed on Wednesday, that the Iraqi government is working to find consensus with the Kurdistan government - KRG regarding the Sinjar Agreement.

    FM Hussein received the Minister of State in the German Foreign Ministry, Tobias Lindner, as the head of the Europe Department, Ambassador Haider Al-Athari attended the meeting, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    "The Iraqi government is keen to strengthen the foundations, principles and democratic values ​​in Iraq. The Iraqi government and the KRG are working to find consensus on Sinjar agreement, to protect the rights of all components of the Iraqi people and encourage them to remain in their regions, to preserve the diversity that constitutes the Iraqi fabric. It comes while providing them with the necessary protection, in addition to working to help them return to their regions, and to provide all the necessary services for that. It also comes to take into account the measures and ways to protect the societal diversity in Iraq," explained in the statement. 

    During the meeting, they discussed the outcomes of the successful visit that Prime Minister Muhammed S. Al-Sudani conducted to Berlin, which resulted in the achievement of many agreements that serve the interests of the two friendly countries, and issues related to human rights, with regard to human rights of Yazidis in Iraq.
