Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah, chaired on Monday, a joint meeting between the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee in the Parliament, the Interior and Security Committees, the local councils, and the Peshmerga in the Kurdistan Parliament, to discuss developing mechanisms for joint coordination and parliamentary cooperation in the field of legislation and laws.
A statement by the Media Office of the Parliament, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah, chaired the joint meeting between the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee in the Parliament, the Interior and Security Committees, the local councils, and the Peshmerga in the Kurdistan Parliament."
The statement added, "The meeting came to discuss developing mechanisms for joint coordination and parliamentary cooperation in the field of legislation and laws, and unifying efforts and endeavors to combat terrorism to achieve security and stability throughout the country."
