The Joint Operations Command confirmed securing the national team's reception ceremony in Baghdad, while revealing the details of its successful plan to secure the Gulf 25 airspace.
The spokesman for the leadership, Major General Tahsin Al-Khafaji, told Al-Iraqiya News, and was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The security forces in Baghdad secured all the joints of the upcoming mass celebration in the celebration square, starting with the ways of the masses flow and the national team bus from Baghdad Airport towards the venue of the celebration.".
He added, "The Gulf 25 insurance plan began two months before the start of the tournament, and the units were redeployed.".
He continued, "A security base, an information environment, and capabilities for rapid response were provided without going to the option of massive deployment and militarization, and the main reliance was on intelligence information and citizen cooperation.".
He added, "The Joint Operations Command held continuous meetings with the security services and the governor of Basra, and there was great cooperation and flexibility that paved the way for success in the procedures for securing the championship.".
He stressed, "The plan was preceded by the implementation of preemptive operations to secure the routes for the masses to flow towards Basra from northern Iraq to its south."
