The Iraqi National Security Service INSS announced on Wednesday the arrest of (27) accused of transporting and trafficking drugs, including a woman, during security operations in 6 governorates.
A statement by INSS, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that "the detachments of the Service, based on accurate intelligence, were able to arrest (27) accused of drug trafficking and transport, including a woman."
It added, "The defendants have judicial arrest warrants issued against them in the provinces of Baghdad, Babil, Najaf, Muthana, Diwaniyah and Anbar, two of whom are in possession of (28) thousand tablets of (Captagon), as well as other narcotic substances and various drug Paraphernalia.”
INSS also pointed out that "the statements of the accused were recorded and referred with the seizures to the competent authorities to receive their just punishment."
