Al-Halbousi and McGurk discuss efforts to combat terrorism and the laws that will be legislated

Parliament Speaker Mohammad al-Halbousi discussed with the White House Coordinator for Middle East and North Africa Affairs, Brett McGurk, today, Tuesday, efforts to combat terrorism and the laws that will be legislated during the coming period.
 
 
"The Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, received the White House Coordinator for Middle East and North Africa Affairs, Brett McGurk," the media office of the Speaker of Parliament said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement added, "During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and means to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries at all levels, in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues of common interest," noting that "the meeting discussed the political and security situation in the country, and efforts to combat terrorism." In addition to the importance of the laws mentioned in the government program, which will be legislated during the coming period.
The statement added, "The meeting was attended by the Special Presidential Coordinator for Global Infrastructure and Energy Security, Amos Hochstein, and the US Ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowski."
