National Security Adviser Qassim Al-Araji stressed on Wednesday, the need for Iraq to share its experience in the field of rehabilitating its nationals coming from Al-Hol camp, stressing at the same time that Iraq is the first response to the threat of terrorism in the world.
The media office of the National Security Adviser said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency, (INA): "Al-Araji chaired the first meeting of 2023 of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee, which discussed the topics on the agenda, and took the necessary decisions and recommendations regarding them."
The statement added, "The meeting discussed the advisory paper on the draft anti-terrorism law, and the proposal of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs related to sharing Iraq's experience in the field of rehabilitating its nationals coming from al-Hol camp with the Arab Interior Ministers Council."
Al-Araji stressed, according to the statement, the need for Iraq to share this experience in such forums, due to its experience in the field of combating terrorism, and for being the first response to the threat of terrorism in the world, in addition to the sacrifices it made."
The meeting also witnessed a discussion of the support strategy provided by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism to Iraq for the next three years, and taking appropriate decisions in this regard."
