The National Security Adviser Qassim al-Araji confirmed on Sunday, that Iraq seeks to end Al-Hol camp file and the return of criminals to their countries for trial there.
A statement issued by Al-Araji's media office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the National Security Adviser, Qassim Al-Araji, received in his office the Spanish ambassador in Baghdad, Pedro Martinez Avial."
The statement added, "Al-Araji discussed with the Spanish ambassador the latest developments in the political and security situation in the region, as well as ways to enhance cooperation and partnership to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries and peoples."
Al-Araji stressed during the meeting, "The importance of benefiting from NATO's experiences to develop the capabilities of our
security forces."
The meeting also discussed "the continues war on ISIS terrorist, and the file of al-Hol camp, where al-Araji stressed that" one of the weaknesses of ISIS gangs is for the international community to remain cohesive against terrorism," noting that "Iraq seeks to end the file of al-Hol camp and the return of criminals to their countries."
For his part, the Spanish ambassador confirmed that "his country is trying to return its citizens who are in the Syrian al-Hol camp."
