The President of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, praised the opening ceremony of the Gulf Cup 25, while calling for not paying attention to the negatives.
A statement of the Arab Gulf Cup Federation, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated, "Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation, extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Iraqi government headed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani, to the Iraqi people, and to Ahmed al-Mubarqa, Minister of Youth and Sports, Asaad Al-Eidani, Governor of Basra, and Adnan Darjal, President of the Iraqi Football Federation, for the warm welcome and hospitality, and for the efforts made by everyone to organize the Gulf 25 in Basra.
Al-Thani praised the 25th Gulf Championship in Basra and the dazzling opening ceremony at the Basra International Stadium and the wonderful historical and artistic paragraphs it contained. He also praised the organizational aspects carried out by the Organizing Committee of the tournament and the Iraqi Football Association in preparing for this tournament in all aspects.
He continued, "We are aware that all tournaments in the world have negatives and positives, but the positives are always reinforced and solutions are developed for the negatives in order not to recur, and we hope everyone does not pay attention to the negatives and try to avoid it to support the Iraqi Football Association."
