The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announced Wednesday approving the termination of the contract concluded with a Canadian company.

A statement by the the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority ICAA, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani approved today the termination of the contract concluded with the Canadian company (Bizins lntel) for the security protection of Baghdad International Airport," noting that "this came as a result of many  appeals from members of the Parliament , after some negative observations were made by several oversight authorities against the security company contracting to protect Baghdad International Airport, where the Prime Minister directed the formation of an investigative committee to follow up on procedures and violations related to the subject of contracting under Bureau Order 22119 dated 11/6/2022, between the ICAA and the company mentioned above.

The statement added, "The committee recommended that there are several breaches in the contract concluded with it, especially with regard to its failure to obtain a license to practice the profession issued by the Ministry of Interior in accordance with the provisions of Security Companies Law No. 52 of 2017."

It continued, "ICAA  reserves its right, in accordance with the provisions of the law, to resort to the judiciary in the event of damage or consequences affecting it as a result of that contract."
