Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief Major General Yehia Rasool said in a press conference held on Tuesday , attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the past month witnessed many events that included consolidating international relations and follow-up of artistic matters, especially the large celebrations of Victory Day and preparation for the Gulf Cup 25th Championship," noting that "the 102th anniversary of the founding of the Iraqi army and the opening of the Gulf Cup 25th in Basra will be the same day."
Rasool welcomed "all Arab and Gulf countries," pointing out that "this tournament sends a message that Iraq enjoys stability."
Rasool added that "the commander-in-chief issued during the ministerial security meeting an order to tighten the zero point between Iraq, Syria and Iran by the Iraqi forces and support them logistically," pointing to "continuing to build the capabilities of the armed forces."
"We hope that the Parliament will allocate funds to the Ministry of Defense within the budget in order to increase the capabilities of the armed forces," Rasool said.
