Iraq went through difficult circumstances and overcame it, says PM Al-Sudani

    Prime Minister Muhammed Shiaa Al-Sudani affirmed on Saturday, that Iraq went through difficult circumstances that it was able to overcome.

    Al-Sudani received a delegation of journalists and media professionals from various Egyptian media outlets, headed by the President of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, Egyptian Information Minister Karam Kamel Ibrahim, as the President of the Media and Communications Commission, the President of the Union of Arab Journalists and the President of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate attended the meeting, according to a statement by the Prime Minister's media office, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    The head of the Egyptian delegation conveyed the greetings of the Egyptian President Abdul Fattah El-Sisi to the Prime Minister, and congratulated him on the occasion of forming the government and assuming his duties as Prime Minister.

    Al-Sudani welcomed the Egyptian media delegation, and invited them to visit Basra and see the ongoing preparations for Basra Gulf Championship 25, which will start on the January, 6th 2022.

    "Iraq went through difficult circumstances that it was able to overcome, and its people have stories of sacrifice in the war against Daesh that amazed the world," said PM Al-Sudani.

    He highlighted Iraq's keenness to maintain balanced relations with its Arab and regional surroundings, as he talked about Iraq's pivotal role in the region and its efforts to bring different points of view closer, and everything that enhances the security of the region.

    Al-Sudani stressed the keenness to achieve economic integration with neighboring countries and the region, "in the path of achieving development and prosperity for the people of the two brotherly and friendly countries."
