Al-Sudani speech captures the attention of the world media

    At the second Baghdad summit conference held yesterday in the Jordanian capital, Amman, in the presence of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani and a number of leaders and leaders of regional and foreign countries, the regional and international media paid attention to al-Sudani's speech at the conference, in which he emphasized putting the fight against financial and administrative corruption at the government's priorities, and his call to brotherly and friendly countries to help recover looted funds and fight extremist ideology and the existential threat that Iraq faces due to water scarcity, calling on Turkey and Iran to ensure Iraq's water security as well as affirming that Iraq distances itself from the policies of axes and calls for escalation and does not allow the use of its lands to launch any threat to neighboring countries.

    Al-Arabiya, Al-Hadath, Al-Jazeera, Sky News, France 24, and BBC Arabic covered the summit, focusing on Al-Sudani's speech, and the support that Iraq received in the words of the leaders participating in the summit was highlighted by all Arab and foreign media.

    BBC Arabic hosted a number of analysts to analyze the words and events of the summit, and in its most watched program, Trending, with its Iraqi Presenter, Rania Al-Attar, focused on the event and the reactions to it on various social media sites.

    The summit topped the main BBC Arabic program, The World This Evening, in a panel discussion in which the advisor to Prime Minister Hussein Allawi participated.

    The Saudi Foreign Minister's speech on the Kingdom's support for Iraq also attracted the attention of Gulf sites and channels, in which he welcomed Iraq's restoration of itspositive role and the Kingdom's interest in the electrical interconnection project.

    Al-Arabiya channel was concerned with  the speech of the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell , at the conference, in which he focused on the necessity of respecting one of Iraq's lands from all parties.

    The closing statement of the summit was very similar to the Prime Minister's opening speech, and added to it the discussion of the political situation in the region, including the Palestinian territories, the Gaza Strip, and the crisis in Libya.

    Arab newspapers quoted the official statements issued by the office of the Iraqi Prime Minister, the Jordanian Royal Palace and the Egyptian Presidency, the five-year summit that included Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait and France, which included the meeting’s agreement to continue working vigorously in order to build on the outcomes of the Baghdad conferences in its first and second sessions, and to strengthen Cooperate with Iraq and support its stability and security.

    The tripartite summit held by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani with the Jordanian Monarch Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi from media organizations in Iraq, Egypt and Jordan was also highlighted. The summit discussed the interdependence of infrastructure and the strengthening of mutual investments to support the ability to compete in markets world, and facing the current challenges in the global economy.

    The closing statement of the Second Baghdad Summit Conference included renewing support for Iraq in its efforts to consolidate the state of the constitution and law, strengthen governance, build institutions, achieve comprehensive development, and work to build economic integration. It was also emphasized that this conference reflects keenness to support Iraq's central role in expanding regional economic cooperation.
