Iraq and Turkey are discussing the establishment and development of industrial cities

    The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khalid Battal Al-Najm, discussed today, Monday, with the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Ali Reza Gunay, the establishment and development of industrial cities in Mosul and Tal Afar, according to Iraqi laws.
     
    The media office of the Ministry of Industry said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khalid Battal Al-Najm, met with the Turkish ambassador to Iraq, Ali Reza Gunay, accompanied by the head of the Turkish Business Council and a number of Turkish businessmen, to discuss opportunities for joint industrial cooperation in the presence of Undersecretary for Planning Ahmed Al-Karim and Director General of the Investments Department.
    The minister stressed the endeavor to strengthen the Iraqi-Turkish bilateral relations in a way that achieves the common interests of the two countries, expressing readiness to cooperate with Turkish companies through the conclusion of partnership contracts in accordance with the approved Iraqi laws, whether in the field of establishing new industrial projects or establishing and developing industrial cities in the city of Mosul and Tal Afar according to Iraqi laws.  
    For his part, the Turkish ambassador indicated that "his country has a strategic vision regarding industrial cities in order to make it an example of work for investment companies and provide job opportunities," stressing "the desire and endeavor of his country's government to work seriously in Iraq to create job opportunities and advance the level of relations and joint work."
