Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari confirmed on Sunday the depth of brotherly relations between Iraq and Kuwait.
A statement of the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, received the delegation of the Iraqi-Kuwaiti Standing Committee headed by the Director General of the General Department of Land Border Security, Major General Mujeel Fahd Al-Rashidi, and the Colonel Abdullah Hamad Al-Ajmi, Colonel Youssef Hamad Al-Suri and Colonel Dhari Ahmed Al-Shayji," stressing during the meeting "the depth of brotherly relations between the two brotherly countries."
"During the meeting, they discussed coordination and joint cooperation in the fight against drugs, the process of controlling the common border and the importance of exchanging information in order to achieve the security and stability of the two neighboring countries," the statement added.
"The government approach of the prime minister, commander-in-chief of the armed forces, is clear on the issue of strengthening relations between Iraq and neighboring countries and the region," al-Shammari said.
Al-Shammari also stressed that "the State of Kuwait is one of the countries that stood with Iraq in its war against terrorism, and that the doors of Iraqis are open to their Kuwaiti brothers."
For its part, the Kuwaiti delegation conveyed the greetings of the Kuwaiti Minister of Interior to Al-Shammari, praising "the efforts of the security services and their resounding victory over the terrorist gangs of ISIS, stressing that "this victory must be studied and lessons taken from it to hunt down terrorist gangs."
