First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi called Thursday for activating the work of joint committees between Iraq and Kuwait.
The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament stated in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi received today the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq, Tariq Al-Faraj, to strengthen bilateral relations and discuss issues of common concern."
Al-Mandalawi called, according to the statement, to "the necessity of activating the work of the joint committees between the two countries to find appropriate solutions to some outstanding issues," pointing to "activating the work of the Iraqi-Kuwaiti Parliamentary Friendship Committee, and emphasizing the continuation of cooperation and mutual coordination at various levels."
He stressed, "Iraq's keenness to build the best relations with neighboring countries, and to adopt the principle of partnership, cooperation and mutual respect, in a way that achieves common interests."
