The Council of Arab Economic Unity approved the establishment of the Arab Academy for Accounting, Financial and Banking Auditing in Iraq.
"The President of the Syndicate of Accountants and Auditors, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Jawad Al-Shuhaili, met with the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity, Ambassador Al-Mohammadi Ahmed Al-Nay, at the headquarters of the Council's General Secretariat in Cairo," according to a statement by the Syndicate of Accountants and Auditors received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
The Secretary-General praised the efforts made by the Iraqi Accountants Association and the Arab Institute for Certified Public Accountants, noting that "approval was granted to establish the Arab Academy for Accounting, Financial and Banking Auditing in Iraq for the first time in the Arab world."
“This academy will grant all professional certificates with postgraduate studies in the regulatory, financial and banking disciplines, with the recognition of the Arab League," he added.
For his part, Al-Shuhaili wrote a letter of thanks and gratitude for the efforts made by the Secretary-General, and emphasized the success of this project in Iraq, to be a first in the region.
