Prime minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani, received an official invitation from the German Chancellor to visit Berlin.
The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, received the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Iraq, Martin Jaeger.".
The statement added, "The German ambassador handed Al-Sudani an official invitation from the German chancellor to visit Berlin, and the prime minister expressed his thanks for the invitation, and promised to meet it as soon as possible.".
The statement continued, "The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and aspects of cooperation in various fields, and an emphasis on building a long-term partnership in the field of energy and liquid gas production, as well as in the areas of confronting climate change, developing anti-corruption mechanisms and renewable energy.".
Al-Sudani stressed, according to the statement, the importance of cooperation in the field of combating corruption, and supporting Iraq's efforts to recover stolen funds and those wanted for corruption crimes.
