The Azerbaijani embassy set today, Tuesday, the size of trade exchange with Iraq for the current year, and while it set a date for reopening the tourist line, it revealed memorandums of understanding between the two countries.
The Azerbaijani ambassador to Iraq, Nasir Mammadov, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The trade exchange between Azerbaijan and Iraq reached approximately $11 million in the year 2020, and it increased in the year 2021 to $24 million," noting that "the volume of trade exchange during the current year increased by about 30% over previous years.
Mammadov stressed the need to "organize a joint conference between Iraqi and Azerbaijani businessmen for the purpose of increasing the size of joint economic exchange," noting that "a large exhibition will be held in Iraq next year to display Azerbaijani products, as an opportunity to get acquainted with Azerbaijani products and to sign memorandums of understanding in the future for the purpose of importing larger products."
"There is a memorandum of understanding between the two countries to define double taxation, and it is ready for signing between the two sides, and we are awaiting its signature after sending a government delegation to visit Azerbaijan."
