The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Amar al-Hakim, congratulated Qatar for its success in hosting the World Cup, while stressing the need for cooperation and unity for good and for neutralizing hate speech and strife.
Al-Hakim said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "We congratulate the brotherly country of Qatar, the leadership, government and people, for their success in hosting the World Cup, and its opening, which was characterized by good organization."
He added, "We hope that this global sports gathering, which represents a convergence of the peoples of the world on Arab Gulf land, will be a message of peace, affection and love, emphasizing the need for cooperation and unity for good, and neutralizing hate speech and strife."
