First Deputy of Parliament Speaker , Muhsin Al-Mandalawi called on Thursday to reconsider both investment licences given to Alrafeel city and Baghdad Golf Resort.
The Office of the First Deputy of Parliament Speaker said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Mandalawi, called on PM Al-Sudani, to reconsider the two investment licenses given by the National Investment Commission (NIC) to AlRafeel Residential city and Baghdad Golf Resort, until monitoring work and investigation of the legal violations is completed , in order to preserve public money.
Al-Mandalawi added, " the way of granting the two investment licenses by the National Investment Commission to companies (Eagle Hills Iraq and Al-Arifi Group) is suspicious as a result of a possible corruptionand irregularities in the investment law and the internal system of the cabinet which calls for reconsideration in implementing the two concluded contracts until confirmation and completion of the legal audits.
The National Investment Commission had granted (Eagle Hills Iraq ) an area of 1800 dunums, in order to build the Baghdad International Golf Resort, and also granted (Al-Arifi Group Company) a building license (Development of Baghdad Avenue in Rafeel City) on an area of 600 dunums of agricultural land.
