Prime minister–designate, Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani, stressed on Sunday, that the expropriation of Iraqi funds will not be allowed.
Al-Sudani said in a tweet followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "We will never hesitate to take real measures to end corruption that has spread brazenly in the state and its institutions."
"We have put this file at the top of the priorities of our program," he said, noting that "we will not allow the money of Iraqis to be exploited, as happened with the funds of the secretariats of the General Tax Authority at Rafidain Bank."
