The Minister of Transport, representative of Prime Minister Nasser al-Shibli, inaugurated on Sunday Kirkuk International Airport.
The head of the Board of Advisors in Kirkuk, Imad Daham, said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Minister of Transport, representative of Prime Minister Nasser al-Shibli, inaugurated Kirkuk International Airport, in the presence of the deputy Minister of Finance Hayam Nemat Kuberlu, and the Governor of Kirkuk Rakan Saeed Ali al-Jubouri."
He added that "the airport, will start from today to receive flights coming to Iraq," noting that "the Iraqi presidential plane landed on the ground of Kirkuk International Airport."
"The airport was inaugurated in the presence of the commander of the advanced headquarters for joint operations, Lieutenant General Ali al-Furaiji, the assistant governor for technical affairs Ali Hammadi, the commander of Kirkuk police, Major General Kawah Gharib, and a number of officials in the Civil Aviation Authority and border ports," Daham said.
