First Deputy Speaker of Parliament , Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, chaired Sunday a parliamentary meeting in the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank, Mustafa Ghaleb, to discuss 6 files.
The media office of the First Deputy stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the First Deputy Speaker of the parliament , Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, chaired an expanded meeting of the Finance Committee, in the presence of the Governor of the Central Bank, Mustafa Ghalib."
It added that "the meeting discussed several axes, the most important of which is the Central Bank's sales file of the foreign currency, the loan file of all kinds, which was granted by the Bank during the last period, especially the industrial and housing initiative, and the Central Bank's policy file regarding increasing the capital of commercial, Islamic and private banks."
It also continued, "The meeting will witness a discussion of the feasibility study of the numbers of private commercial and Islamic banks, and the banks that have been placed under the tutelage of the Central Bank, as well as discussion on the results achieved by the "Letters of Guarantee platform" established by the Central Bank and the extent of the banks' ability to apply it in the areas of banking work, and the supervisory role the bank shall have on the responsibility of commercial and Islamic banks with regard to the fulfillment of some of the lagging banks with their obligations towards their customers.
