A joint security operation was launched today, Sunday, south of Mosul.
A statement by the Popular Mobilization Forces PMF, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the units of the Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization under the supervision of the commander Ahmed Al-Asadi, launched a security operation from four axes to search and secure the villages of Ibrahimiya, Al-Hussainiya, Al-Muzamilat and Tal Al-Rayyan, south of the city of Mosul."
The statement pointed out that "the security operation was attended by Iraqi army units from the 16th Division and the Nineveh Police Emergency Regiments."
The statement added, "The inspection operation comes within the strategic plans to pursue ISIS remnants, destroy its hideouts, and secure responsibility areas in order to preserve the security of citizens."
