Popular Mobilization Forces -PMF announced Thursday the launch of a wide- ranging security operation south of Mosul.
A statement by PMF, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "a force from the 30th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization has begun a wide-ranging search and security operation south of the city of Mosul."
It added, "The operation came in cooperation with the Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization and other support agencies to search and secure the remote villages of the Nimrud district and to audit the database of people in search of criminal Daesh remnants."
The statement continued, "The PMF continues to implement its pre-emptive security operations to strike terrorist dens, secure responsibility areas, and protect citizens and their property."
