The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced on Sunday the launch of the second phase of inspection and security operations in areas south of Mosul.
PMF stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that forces from PMF, the Army and the Police began on Sunday the second phase of inspections and securing areas south of Mosul, noting that the security operation was launched at 600 o'clock with the participation of the Nineveh Operations Command (33rd Brigade and 21st Brigade) and the units affiliated to the Operations Command with the support of (explosive control, military engineering, armor resistance and military medical support) affiliated to PMF and the Iraqi army units represented by (76th Brigade and 75th Brigade) and the Commandos Brigade Nineveh Operations Command of the Iraqi Army and force of the Iraqi Army Swat Nineveh.
The statement mentioned that the operation aims to inspect and secure areas south of Mosul from the remnants of ISIS terrorist groups, and also to secure power transmission towers from vandalizing.
PMF statement added that the operations continue to advance according to the prepared plans from 7 axes divided among the joint forces, the 33rd Brigade, the 21st Brigade of PMF, the Iraqi army units, and Swat Nineveh.
