Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein discussed on Monday, with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi and the French FM Catherine Colonna holding Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, the 2nd edition.
"Hussein discussed with Safadi and Colonna holding Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership in its second edition, to be held in the Jordanian capital, Amman," according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The joint meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the work of the United Nations General Assembly, 77th session in New York, discussed preparations related to the agenda and objectives of the conference. It aims at sustained dialogue between the concerned countries, create a state of cooperation and stability in the region, build economic partnerships and protect Iraq from abroad threats.
At the end of the meeting, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hussein suggested to his Jordanian and French counterparts that the conference secretariat be jointly run by an Iraqi administration, within its next session.
