Al-Ghanimi issues directives to the forces securing the Arbaeen pigrimage

    Minister of Interior Othman Al-Ghanimi issued Thursday directives to the forces participating in securing the Arbaeen pilgrimage .

    A statement by the Media Office of the Minister of Interior, received by the Iraqi News Agency INA, stated that "the million crowds continue to head from inside and outside the country to commemorate the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein, amid a great security and service alert, and under the direct supervision of the Minister of Interior Othman Al-Ghanimi from within the holy city of Karbala.

    The statement added, "The Minister of Interior held a series of meetings with the security and service authorities to update the drawn plans and provide instructions and directives on a timely basis for the success of this blessed occasion."

    Al-Ghanimi stressed, according to the statement, that "visitors are served, and efforts in this field must continue, and work must be coordinated between all units, departments and institutions entrusted with this duty."

    He stressed, "the need for the leaders of the axes to be at the top of their security units, and the constant communication between these units, whether inside or outside the holy governorate of Karbala," stressing "the importance of providing a safe and appropriate atmosphere in all the roads used by pilgrims and intensifying efforts to provide the best services."

     Al-Ghanimi conducted a series of inspection tours within the sector of responsibility, and directed a number of instructions that would overcome obstacles, as well as give impetus to the security and service work.
