Salih: The events that took place are regrettable and unacceptable

President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed Thursday that the events that took place are regrettable and unacceptable.

 A statement by the Office of the President of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received today, at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji," noting that "during the meeting, they discussed the security developments that the country witnessed."  

The statement added, "During the meeting, the need to impose security and stability in the country, ensure the safety of citizens, and work to prevent a recurrence of the recent armed clashes was stressed on.”

According to the statement, Salih stressed that "the events that took place are regrettable and unacceptable and must be prevented from recurring under any circumstances," noting "the importance of the work of the fact-finding committee in the events of the Green Zone, and to ensure that the investigation is impartial and professional."
