The New Generation bloc demanded Tuesday to suspend the Iraqi ambassador to Lebanon and refer him to investigation.
"Iraq's ambassador to the Lebanese Republic, Haidar Sheaa al-Barrak, has done a flawed and regrettable action by preventing a press meeting of the head of the Iraqi delegation officially visiting the Lebanese Ministry of Energy with the official Iraqia satellite channel in a rude and unacceptable manner without respect," said The Bloc's president, Mp Sarwa Abdul Wahid, in a statement received by the Iraqi news agency (INA).
She added, "This behavior is an unacceptable transgression, and far from the ethics of the Iraqi individual, as well as the duties of the public office and the necessity to preserve its high position and the dignity of its two parties, since the employee is an individual who represents the state with its various institutions.”
Abdul Wahid demanded that "Ambassador Haidar Sheaa Ghobeshi Dilimi Al-Barrak be referred to an investigative committee based on the provisions of Article 10/First) of the State and Public Sector Employees Discipline Law No. (22) Of 2008, and immediately suspend him from his position based on the provisions of Article 17/First of the aforementioned law.
Abdul Wahid directed a question to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, based on Article (11/Seventh/A) of the Constitution, Article (50) of the parliament internal law, and Articles (10, 27 and 29) of Parliament Law No. (13) of 2018: “does the Foreign Ministry, in its law, minister and system, see that this inappropriate behavior works with the duties of the ambassador and conforms to diplomatic standards? .. If the answer is no, what are the procedures of your ministry regarding this behavior?
