Washington urges all Iraqi parties to remain calm

The US Embassy in Baghdad urged today, Tuesday, all Iraqi parties to remain calm and refrain from violence.
The embassy said in a statement: "We are closely monitoring reports of unrest today in Baghdad around the Supreme Judicial Council."
  "We urge all parties to remain calm, refrain from violence and resolve any political differences in a peaceful way based on the Iraqi constitution," calling on the demonstrators to respect the procedures and properties of Iraqi government institutions that belong to the Iraqi people and serve their interests." the embassy added.
