The National Security Adviser announced today, Sunday, the holding of an Iraqi-international meeting to end the Al-Hol camp file, while indicating the formation of four groups on this file.
The media office of the National Security Adviser said to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the National Security Adviser, Qasim Al-Araji, chaired, today, the session of the Iraqi and international working groups, concerned with implementing the international framework for the return of Iraqis from northeastern Syria, and the dismantling of the Syrian al-Hol camp."
"Al-Araji opened the session with a speech in which he stressed the importance of working to end the threat posed by Al-Hol camp, and that the international community bears its responsibilities towards this file," noting that "the Iraqi government took a brave decision and started implementing it since May 2021."
Al-Araji stated that "the start of joint work was announced, under the sponsorships of the Iraqi government and the United Nations, to end this dangerous and sensitive file."
