The Border Ports Commission confirmed on Sunday its readiness to receive pilgrims of Arbaeen in the holy city of Karbala.
The Commission said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "in coordination with the provinces and the Joint Operations Command and under the direct supervision of the Minister of Interior, the Border Ports Commission has completed the necessary procedures to receive Arbaeen’s pilgrims of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), where many practices have been conducted for the inspection of persons, passport audits and security deployment to ensure the facilitation of procedures and at the same time to ensure that no visitor passes until after undergoing government procedures."
It added that "in order to integrate and coordinate between all the departments covered by the duty of the Arbaeen pilgrimage, a dominant headquarters has been formed for the reinforcement provided by the Joint Operations Command and there are strengthening committees from the headquarters of the Border Ports Commission working jointly for the success of the plan drawn up for the Holy pilgrimage."
