Electricity determines contents of energy link with Saudi Arabia and a directive on Qatari gas

    The Ministry of Electricity set today, Sunday, the date for the completion of the connection with Saudi Arabia, while indicating that the file of importing gas from Qatar needs the cooperation of 4 ministries.
    A spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity, Ahmed Mousa said, that "the ministry has set with the Saudi side the paths of the lines, connection points and work mechanisms," noting that "the first phase of the agreement will include one thousand megawatts."
    He added, "Lines will be established through the Arar border crossing, and the Yusufiya station," pointing out that "the connection will be completed within 24 to 36 months."
    Regarding the file of gas import from Qatar, Mousa explained that "there is a positive understanding from the Qatari side regarding the export of gas to Iraq," noting that "the file requires intensive efforts by the ministries of finance, transport, oil and electricity to establish special platforms for liquefied gas and prepare docks and ports, as well as allocating funds Finance for importing gas.
    Mousa stressed that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi directed the acceleration of these achievements to diversify energy sources, and the ministry is moving forward in this regard."
