Iraqi National Security service (INSS) announced on Monday, the arrest of 31 suspects in cases of electronic extortion within two months.
A statement by the Security Media Cell, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "after receiving complaints from citizens regarding their exposure to cases of electronic extortion, INSS was able during the months (June and July) to carry out several operations, after obtaining judicial approvals, and setting up court ambushes. “
It explained, "The operations resulted in the overthrow of 31 blackmailers who tried to exploit the victims by bargaining with them for sums of money," pointing out that "all the accused were submitted to the competent judicial authorities to receive their just punishment in accordance with the law."
