The Commander of the Air Defense Lieutenant-General Maan al-Saadi revealed on Sunday, the arrival of two high detection radars to Iraq, while noting that the operations center of the new Air Defense Command will be a qualitative shift towards monitoring Iraqi airspace.
Al-Saadi said in his speech during the foundation stone laying ceremony for the main operations center at the Air Defense Command, which was attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the foundation stone was laid today for the construction of the operations center for the Air Defense Command, which will be a qualitative transition towards monitoring Iraqi airspace," noting , that "the system of high detection radars has arrived in Iraq and will be deployed in the provinces of Diwaniyah and Anbar."
He added, "Two of these systems will arrive soon, they will be placed in Nineveh and Basra," noting that "an American system will also arrive and will be deployed in Kirkuk province."
Al-Saadi continued, "We aspire to obtain low detection radars."
