US State Department: Washington and its allies need Russian oil supplies

US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland announced that Washington and its allies need Russian oil supplies in global markets, otherwise the cost of this resource will begin to rise again.

"We need to see Russian oil on the world market, or else its shortage will lead to a new price increase," Nuland said during the annual forum organized at the Aspen Institute.

The department added that setting the price of Russian oil, according to Washington and its allies, should be such as limiting the profits that Moscow gains from selling "black gold", while maintaining an incentive to continue supplying global markets with this resource.
