The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it will summon the Turkish ambassador in Iraq to hand him a strongly worded protest note regarding the bombing of Zakho, while indicating that international efforts will be mobilized around the bombing.
The spokesman for the ministry, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the procedures of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the Turkish bombing will not be traditional, but we will follow the highest levels of response and diplomatic deterrence," noting that "the ministry will start from resorting to the Security Council and taking a deterrent measure, and summoning the Turkish ambassador, to hand him a strongly worded protest note, while mobilizing international efforts to support Iraq as a result of the bombing.
He stressed that "the ministry will shortly summon the Turkish ambassador in Baghdad to hand him a strongly worded protest note."
