The Command of the Sixth Region Border Guard announced on Wednesday, the arrest of 8 Syrian infiltrators who tried to cross the Iraqi borders.
A statement by the Command, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that "in continuation of efforts to secure the Iraqi-Syrian border, and based on accurate intelligence information, the Third Regiment, the Seventeenth Brigade, and in a tight ambush, managed to arrest four people of Syrian nationality while they were trying to cross the Iraqi-Syrian border."
"A force from the Second Regiment, 19th Brigade, based on intelligence information, managed, with a tight ambush, to arrest four other Syrian infiltrators who tried to cross the border," The statement added.
It pointed out that "they were handed over to the concerned authorities to take legal measures against them."
