The Security Media Cell announced Wednesday the arrival of a high-level delegation to the Samarra Operations Sector to overview the circumstances of the terrorist act that led to the death and injury of a number of security forces personnel.
A statement by SMC, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "a superior security delegation included the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant-General Abdul Amir Yarallah, the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Abdul-Amir Al-Shamri, the Commander of the Federal Police Forces, Lieutenant-General Saleh Nasser Al-Amiri, and the Commander of the Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Staff Lt. Qassem al-Muhammadi, arrived at the Samarra operations sector.
The statement added, "The visit of the security delegation came to find out the circumstances of the terrorist act that led to the martyrdom and injury of a number of heroes at one of the federal police headquarters in the Al-Jalam district of Al-Dur district in Salah Al-Din Governorate."
The statement also pointed out that "our security forces will work to hold those involved in this incident accountable," stressing that "the incident will not pass without urgent retribution from the terrorist elements."
