The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on Saturday, recording 52 new cases of cholera, while confirming that Iraq is witnessing an epidemic wave that may be more severe than its predecessors.

"Iraq is witnessing a sharp rise in Corona cases," stressing that it is "a wave of epidemics more severe than its predecessors," said the ministry's spokesman, Saif Al-Badr, in a statement to Al-Iraqiya TV, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

He pointed out that "There is a clear lack of commitment to preventive measures, in addition to the low demand for vaccines despite their availability in all outlets," noting that "52 new cases of cholera were recorded, bringing the total to 309 cases of cholera."

Al-Badr indicated that "A new death was recorded in Kirkuk, bringing the total number of cholera deaths to three, two in Kirkuk and one in Baghdad."

Regarding the Viral Hemorrhagic Fever, Al-Badr explained that "The number of infections since the beginning of this year has reached 246, including 40 deaths until this moment."
