Samarra Operations Command announced Tuesday, that conducting new plan to secure the days of Eid al-Adha and power transmission towers in Salah al-Din, while identifying three reasons preventing the return of displaced families to some areas.
“The Command developed a special plan in which all units participated within the sector of responsibility represented by the Fourth Division, the Federal Police, as well as the located forces in Dhuluiya, Samarra, and Dujail, to secure the days of Eid al-Adha,” Samarra Operations Commander Major General Ali Mithjal al-Maliki told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Samarra Operations Command also developed a plan to protect the energy towers by involving the units locating in the area by deploying them and carry out foot patrols to secure protection for those towers, with the support of the army’s aviation,” he added.
Regarding Hawi Al-Azeem area, Al-Maliki confirmed that "The security forces redeployed the military units in the area with the establishment of new positions for the Federal Police and the security of Hawi Al-Azeem well between Diyala , Samarra, and Salah al-Din operations Commands.”
Al-Maliki stated that "The reasons for non-return of some displaced families are because there are incomplete administrative matters, and there are completely destroyed houses, confirming that "The families returning to their areas were provided with entrance cards, including the village of Sayed Gharib, where 25% of the IDPs were returned to it after completing all the administrative matters and services," explaining that "some returnees started rehabilitating their orchards again."
