The Governor of Erbil Omed Khoshnaw announced, on Tuesday the death of the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Salah al-Din University and a university professor after they were attacked by a student who had been expelled earlier.
Khoshnaw said, during a press conference attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Dean of the Faculty of Law at Salah al-Din University Kawan Ismail, died of his wounds after being shot."
He explained that "the accused attacked the Dean and shot him, and he also killed the professor of the Faculty of Engineering," noting that "the accused was a student at Soran University and he was expelled," noting that "Dr. Ismail was shot five times, and the doctors could not save him after all attempts were made to save him."
He pointed out that "the killer is known and must be arrested as soon as possible and brought to justice."
For his part, the President of Salah al-Din University explained that "the accused killed two professors, one of whom is a dean and the other is a professor at the Faculty of Engineering."
