PM Al-Kadhimi: Building the homeland requires patience and time

    Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi confirmed on Saturday during the ceremony of laying the cornerstone of the 1000 model school buildings project in all Iraq that" Building homeland requires patience and time" indicating that the project of 1000 schools will be completed within the Iraqi-Chinese agreement and according to specific timings."
     
    Al-Kadhimi stated according to a statement issued by his media office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “I am glad to be among you and with you in this celebration to lay the corner stone for the project of building 1,000 schools in all governorates of Iraq."
     
    He added, "This strategic project is important for building society and developing our generations towards building leaders to serve Iraq in the future."
    Al-Kadhimi noted, "We must be proud and grateful of the history and the legacy of our ancestors, and we must be aware that education and science are essential parts for the advancement of any society, but unfortunately there has been no interest in education since 2003," stressing that "This project will be accomplished within the Iraqi-Chinese agreement, which many have previously questioned the government's lack of seriousness in implementing it."."
    He continued: "Today we lay the cornerstone for the implementation of this agreement, in order to send a message that education is very important in the life of our society and the needs of our children," stressing that "The need to work on paying attention to education, not only in building schools, but in changing and developing educational curriculums , and this is not only the government responsibility, but the government, the prime minister, the relevant sectors, the community, and the specialists.”
    He continued, "We have to search for these specialists, and support them to  contribute in building Iraq," explaining that "The project includes building 1000 schools, and it will include all of Iraq's governorates, and we will follow up on the project and work within the timetable for its implementation."
    Al-Kadhimi thanked the people in charge and the Higher Committee for School Construction for this project, who worked day and night to implement it.
    He also concluded, "We must make our choices between building the homeland or inaction, as building requires patience and time, and demolishing is easy and can be done within a short period."
    He concluded by saying: "Today I announce the launch of this project, and lay the cornerstone for it for the sake of Iraq and the Iraqis."
