The Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency (FIIA), announced on Monday, thwarted an attempt to smuggle 6 kg of narcotic drugs and arrested two smugglers in Basra province.
"According to accurate intelligence information, FIIA detachments at the Ministry of Interior were able to thwart the process of smuggling in 6 kg of narcotic substances on the border strip," said The Security Media Cell in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"The detachments were also able to arrest two foreign suspects and seize the boat in which they tried to transport drugs to Basra province," the statement added.
